THE WHERES AND HOWS OF HAWAII

Darjeeling is most famous for its tea. It is a great hill station. The world heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway winds its way around the hills as it chugs along to Darjeeling from the plains.

Ahhh! The finest tea in the world is grown here in Darjeeling.

THE WHERE AND HOW OF DARJEELING

Mussoorie was developed by the British as a hill station, where they could escape to and beat the hot Indian summer. It is a beautiful place, where many expensive boarding schools have sprung up. Just the chance to walk in the Alpine forests was worth my trip to this resort in Uttarakhand, in Northern India.

Khandala is under-estimated because it is so near Mumbai and Pune. But, beleive me, it is pure heaven during the monsoons. As you stnad atop the hills of Khandala you see the monsoon clouds coming up to meet you. Then they turn into into a thick mist. Paradise!

There are only a few hundred Asiatic lions surviving. All of them live in a few square hundred kilometres in Gujarat state In India. The best time to travel to Sasan Gir (from where one can take a safari trip to see the lions) is October to May.
